Notice for E-commerce Users
In accordance with waste management regulations and extended producer responsibility requirements, certain businesses selling and/or distributing products to end users in the Republic of Croatia through the Internet or other forms of distance selling are subject to waste management obligations.
Business entities with a registered office in the Republic of Croatia
Online marketplaces, online stores (e-commerce websites) and other economic entities with a registered office in the Republic of Croatia that sell and/or distribute to end users in Croatia (B2C), through distance selling:
- EE equipment,
- batteries and accumulators,
- oils,
- vehicles,
- tyres,
- single-use plastic products,
- tobacco products with filters and filters,
- fishing gear containing plastic
and use postal, courier or similar delivery services, are obliged to pay the waste management fee for these products and their packaging.
Such entities are required to register in the Register of Producers with Extended Responsibility (RPPO) and submit data on the products and product packaging they sell and/or distribute in the Republic of Croatia.
Business entities without a registered office in the Republic of Croatia
Online marketplaces and online stores (e-commerce websites) that do not have a registered office, branch office, point of sale, distribution centre or similar establishment in the Republic of Croatia, and that sell and/or distribute the above-mentioned products to end users in Croatia (B2C) through distance selling, are also obliged to pay the waste management fee for these products and their packaging.
They shall fulfil this obligation by authorising in writing an entity registered in the Republic of Croatia which, as an authorised representative, will be responsible for fulfilling their obligations in the Republic of Croatia.
