Do you remember your first job and entering the job market after graduation? For many of us, the first job meant the first encounter with our own profession, but not for the students of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences. Their students have 200 hours of professional internship during their undergraduate studies, and Vedrana and Andrija completed their internship at Overseas Express to get to know the growing courier and logistics industry.
Overseas Express continuously invests in employee development and education, but the cooperation with the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences has opened completely new opportunities for introducing future employees to business, market, processes and work environment, which has proven to be a great way to develop a quality team. Students Vedrana and Andrija conducted their internship in Overseas under the guidance of colleagues through all departments and processes that are important for the delivery service, from operations, sales and marketing, distribution network, customer support and the main distribution center in Zagreb where shipments are organized, sorted and prepared for distribution to 20 delivery centers. Vedrana Đukić is a third year undergraduate student of Traffic in the field of Postal Traffic, and Andrija Džalo is a third year student of the undergraduate study of Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics. They both agree that the internship they did at Overseas Express was very helpful to them, but we wondered why.
"I have met people who are dedicated to their work and people who will know the answer to my every question. At every moment of my internship I had professional and capable people at my disposal to whom I will always be grateful for the vast knowledge I gained in such a short time", said Andrija in an interview for srednja.hr. Vedrana also mentioned mentors who were willing to answer all her questions. She says she came to the internship willingly because she wanted to learn as much as possible, and in return she received confirmation that she was ready for the challenges that await her after graduation. "Coming to the place where the processes I learned about before through books take place, everything sort of settled down. The theory and the practical part connected. Going through all the phases of shipping process, I realized that I know it all, and it made me happy. I confirmed to myself that I learned a lot at the Faculty and that I am ready for the challenges that await me after graduation. I know that there is still a lot to learn, but the first steps are already solved", said Vedrana when describing her experience.
