Fleet electrification is one of the key trends in the logistics business. Thinking green in Overseas Express means taking on a number of new habits of our employees and investing in fleet electrification. That is why this season in our main distribution center we have replaced all vehicles used for loading goods - forklifts - with new electric vehicles. This is the beginning of an investment that will result in increased energy efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.
Sustainability is a key determinant of the group to which Overseas Express belongs - Austrian Post. This is reflected by the fact that the Austrian Post was the first in its market to renew and replace its fleet with energy efficient vehicles. Digitization, personalization of service and sustainability are key determinants of Overseas Express's business, and our long-term goal is to reduce the negative impact on the environment and introduce new environmental practices.
With the new fleet of electric vehicles in the main distribution center, we will significantly reduce energy consumption and enable complete online monitoring of forklifts. All of this reduces the harmful effects on the environment in terms of CO2 emissions and noise, which is of particular importance for employees who drive those vehicles.
The green transition implies a number of other investments such as changing the air conditioning system, and Overseas Express will be the first company in Croatia to launch the Samsung DVM S2 Wind Free device that emits extremely low CO2 values, low power consumption and wind free technology.
